Yes, we can even frame a tree!

Yes, we can even frame a tree!

Recently, Jan had a customer who had a piece of bark from a tree they had on their property and wanted preserved. They had carved names in it years ago and discovered that it had fallen over so they carefully removed the section with the names and brought it to us. That’s when Jan did her magic.

She started by carving a piece of foam to be the support behind it.

Then she covered the foam in fabric

Next she attached the bark to the foam and the bark to the backing

We used a 9″ deep barnwood frame to hold it.

It turned out beautifully, and we helped a family save a special memory.

Gallery moments

Gallery moments

Gallery moments are those moments that happen in your daily life, so you whip out your phone to take a photo and then later you keep going back to that photo. Don’t keep those moments in your phone! Get them on your wall. It’s easy, just bring us your phone and let us show you the possibilities of printing your photos on metal or acrylic. It’s a clean, crisp modern look that will add a special touch to your walls. We can frame them, or leave them unframed, the choice is up to you. These take a week to print and deliver and we can even ship them to you, or someone you are giving a gift to at no additional charge.

Our building was in need of a paint job and we think the final product is even better than expected.  Thanks to the guys at Integrity Painting our mural now stands out, even more than it did before.

Spring cleaning

Spring cleaning

It’s that time of year again, time to clean out the drawers, closets and garage.  As you purge and sort and discover all the items you thought were lost forever make sure you pull out the real treasurers and do something with them. Mom would love some of frandma’s jewelry framed for a Mother’s Day gift.  How about framing some fishing flies for dad from his tackle box he used as a kid? Honor Grandpa and his service to our country by framing and hanging his medals in a memory box. The possibilities are endless, so what unique items did you find spring cleaning this year?

One of the best parts about being a custom framer is you never know what’s going to walk in the door that someone wants to hang on their wall. Here are some of our favorites.

Needle art

Needle art

We frame all types of needle art from cross stitch to fabric collages, to quilts or embroidery. All of it is done in a reversible fashion in case you ever want to remove it from it’s frame. No adhesives of any kind are used. Instead we either lace it or tack it in the appropriate way.

Weddings are full of memories, let us help you preserve yours with a framed invitation or photo of your big day. Framed wedding announcements make wonderful gifts for the bride and groom of their special day. In addition to photos, we can also frame other items like bouquets, boutonnieres, dresses, jewelry, or any other memento that will help you remember one of the best days of your life.

Sports framing

Sports framing

Sports framing is so much fun because the items are usually colorful, vibrant, unique, and everyone wants to tell the story differently. We have all color combinations for any sport or team, along with lots of ideas of how to properly display your prized possession.

Let the experts at Frame Depot help you display your favorite team with pride.

Photo collages

Photo collages

Here are some ideas for framing multiple photos — a photo collage — or items in the same frame. We can customize your picture to be as small or as large as you want to accommodate all of your items. We can even customize the background with fabric, or maps, or other memorabilia.

Some projects we’ve done include framing class photos, high school yearbooks, graduation items, photos from events, and collages created with word mats that can spell out whatever you want. Let us help you make something memorable.

Family Photos

Family Photos

Here are some ideas of ways to frame old family photos you may come across. They can be displayed with items like the quilt piece, or a photo of grandma baking along with her favorite recipe and cookie cutters. The possibilities are endless. If items are damaged we can also use creative matting to hide those areas.

Military Framing

Military Framing

Military framing of medals, memorabilia and other items is one of our specialties at Frame Depot. We pay great attention to all the little details that go into making a piece perfect. If you or a family member was in the military, let us help you preserve the memories and honors that go along with serving our country.

Here are a few examples of some of our work:

Building Dreams by Jan Falter

Building Dreams by Jan Falter

The last few months we have been asking for people to vote for Jan. Now we can finally show you her piece! She was one of six semi-finalists in Tru-Vue’s Memorable Moments contest. The piece was then in the top three so it was on display at the West Coast Art and Frame show in January. In the end she did not win, but we are all very proud of her amazing efforts.

Her memorable moment is a Habitat For Humanity family finally getting the key to their very own home. We have been involved with Habitat for Humanity of Mesa County for a few years and have witnessed this amazing moment more than once so it was only fitting when the contest asked for something that was community related this was her choice. The piece is now hanging in our business for you to admire. It is quite complicated when looked at up close. The siding was created by embossing matboard with our computerized mat cutter and then cutting out the pieces. The roof is created with three different sizes of Larson Juhl moulding. Like we said, you have to see it in person to appreciate all the details.

Congratulations Jan! We’re very proud of you!
